Early Evansville
Evansville, developed in 1839, was an important agricultural trade
center. Log houses, farms, and small industries were built, and the population
grew from less than 10 families in the beginning to nearly 5,000 people in
2009. Then and now Evansville still has a unique look at how the community has
changed from the 1900s to today.

The Brick Road
What's old is new again in Evansville.
Bricks that have been covered by asphalt for more than 40 years have found
their way back to the surface, and Main Street once again is a red brick
road in the downtown area.
Re-laying the bricks along Main Street from First
Street to Railroad Street, brings a more historic feel to downtown
Evansville.
